Session Description:
Climate observations have successfully addressed major environmental and societal issues over the last 150 years: from water availability to cryospheric changes to changing circulation. In this session we ask the questions: What are the current highest priorities for climate observations? How do we plan and evaluate proposed climate observations? What is the appropriate level of investment in future climate observations? We invite presentations that address innovative approaches to observations and offer insights into identifying what makes some observations more successful than others. This session is open to presentations from all disciplines including hydrology, atmospheric science, cryosphere, land surface, economics, metrology and communications.
