Monitoring, Prediction, and Hazard Mitigation of Hydroclimatic Extreme Events I

Session Description:
Hydroclimatic extremes have significant socio-economic and terrestrial ecological impacts. This session aims to attract studies on analyses of hydroclimatic extremes including:

(a)Prediction and monitoring using remote sensing satellite/radar-derived data.

(b)Analysis and monitoring infrastructures risk mitigation, resilience (relief response), and reliability.

(c)Analysis of extremes and their precursors using gage and remotely sensed data with hydroclimatic models, statistical and learning algorithms.

(d)Dynamics of hydroclimatic extremes;

a.Diagnosis, assessment and prediction of extremes and their severity, duration and spatiotemporal patterns;

b.Non-stationary analysis of extremes; and

c.Uncertainty analysis of data and models used for monitoring extreme events.

Case studies that focus on regional or continental aspects are encouraged.
