H52D:
Linking Dynamic Watershed Processes Across Spatial and Temporal Scales I

Submit an Abstract to this Session

Session ID#: 34635

Session Description:
Watersheds are complex systems that integrate flowing water with discharging groundwater, the hyporheic zone, the floodplain, rapid runoff during events, and anthropogenic activities. The complex linkages and feedbacks among watershed components and processes across space and time that govern hydrological and biogeochemical evolution are still poorly understood. Presentations in this session focus on observations and models that advance our understanding of aquatic, terrestrial, and atmospheric processes and their implications for hydrological, biogeochemical, nutrient, and metal exports from watersheds. Many of these presentations will apply leading edge high-frequency measurements of water quality and physical properties of surface waters and groundwater to advance our knowledge of watershed function.
