Advances in Watershed Modeling: Hydrologic/Nutrient Processes and Management I

Session Description:
By the applications of watershed modeling, complex hydrologic and nutrient processes have been represented in the models in a form of physically- or empirically-based functions to better reflect actual phenomena. In recent years, watershed modeling has become the standardized preliminary approach to evaluate complex physical processes prior to conducting the decision making process. The associated watershed management such as implementation of soil and water conservation practices, irrigation, water drainage and nutrient management are essential elements with direct and indirect impacts on targeted watersheds and regional health. Informative and useful reference can be provided via watershed projects and the corresponding virtual simulations developed by scientists and engineers. In this session, advances in watershed modeling will be explored by various implementations of novel modeling techniques on hydrologic and nutrient processes and the potential impacts at watershed and field scales.
