Equatorial to Midlatitude Ionosphere: Climatology and Variability of Electrodynamics and Irregularities at Different Longitudes III Posters

Session Description:
Recent distributed ground and space-based observations show significant longitudinal variability of mid-to-low latitude electrodynamics that directly affects the global density and scintillation forecasting capabilities. This session aims at providing a comprehensive understanding on the characteristics, distribution, and electrodynamics of the mid-to-low latitudes density irregularities and scintillations by synthesizing various ground-based and satellite-borne observations. This session also attempts to address some of the longstanding questions: - what are the controlling factors that cause strong longitudinal dependence of low latitudes electrodynamics? - how low latitude electrodynamics modifies the global electron density structures and irregularities at low and middle latitudes? What is the physical process underlying medium-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances? We welcome papers (both modeling and observation) that describe progress in understanding equatorial and mid-latitude electrodynamics and coupling processes that improve our ability to unravel the variability of mid-to-low latitudes ionosphere with longitude and to forecast global ionospheric irregularities/scintillations and ambient electron density.
