Planetary Differentiation Processes Constrained by Metal Stable Isotopes: From Theories to Observations I

Session Description:
In the last two decades, analytical methods of metal stable isotopes, ranging from Li to U, have been significantly improved, and metal stable isotopes are extensively used in many fields of geochemistry. Metal stable isotopes can be fractionated by both equilibrium and kinetic processes as controlled by many factors during planetary differentiation. They are powerful tools to study processes that make the Earth, other planets, and the Moon into their current forms. This session invites contributions from (but not limited to) studies on the mechanism of isotope fractionation using experimental and theoretical approaches, observations and applications of metal stable isotopes on terrestrial and extraterrestrial samples, and novel analytical method development.
