Session Description:
A reception to celebrate all the aspects of our diversity (race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, cultural identity, disability, or socioeconomic status) in the Earth and space sciences. Having a diverse membership creates a synergy between people of different backgrounds, cultures, and work values to promote innovation and creativity. Join us as we collectively celebrate our accomplishments in promoting diversity and inclusion in the Earth and space sciences. Light refreshments will be served. This session draws more than 125 diverse scientists from around the world. This event is being cohosted by several organizations including the American Geophysical Union, Geoscience Alliance, the International Association for Geoscience Diversity, MS PHD'S Professional Development and Mentoring Institute and the Cirrus Academy - A STEAM Charter School System, the National Science Foundation Directorate for Geosciences, NOGLSTP, UCAR SOARS program, and UNAVCO.
