Session Description:
Attorneys from the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund (CSLDF) and American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) will cover practical legal issues that scientists interested in activism should know. Topics will include how to separate personal activism from professional responsibilities, free speech rights and restrictions, public protest guidelines, open records laws, anti-lobbying restrictions for federally-funded scientists, and how scientists should respond if they become political targets.
