Session Description:
The tour will follow the area’s development into one of the most unique and diverse cultures, ecologies, and economies in the world. You will take an excursion outside the hurricane levees, into the vast marshes of the Delta, and get the chance to observe the centuries-old tradition of harvesting seafood. The tour also allows you to see the remains of shoreline forts from the early 1800s, and relive the Battle of New Orleans. You will also learn how storms and floods have shaped the region, and explore the new flood, hurricane, and water management innovations in the region.
