Interactions of Aerosols, Clouds, Radiation, and Climate on Regional Scales I Posters

Session Description:
Aerosols, especially those from human activities, significantly affect regional climate by interacting with radiation, cloud, and precipitation. The changes in climate also have profound impact on regional aerosol budget and air quality. An adequate understanding and improved representation of these complex interactions is crucial for both air pollution control and climate change mitigation.

We welcome all observational, experimental, and modeling studies that present new knowledge of aerosol-radiation-cloud-climate interactions on regional scale. Relevant topics include but are not limited to: (1) new understanding of aerosol physical and chemical processes that affect their radiative effects, (2) interactions among aerosols, radiation, clouds (including both macro- and micro-physical properties of liquid, mixed-phase, and ice clouds) and precipitation, (3) roles of aerosol-radiation-cloud-precipitation interactions in the formation of severe pollution events, (4) impact of these interactions on long-term regional climate change, and (5) influence of past and future climate change on air quality.
