Advancing Earth Science Through Geologic Mapping Posters

Session Description:
Geologic maps serve as baseline information for regional geologic framework models of the earth's composition and structure. They are essential for a wide range of investigations such as landscape evolution, eruptive histories of volcanoes, emplacement of intrusive bodies, tectonic history and crustal deformation as well as assessment of geologic hazards. Advances in mapping techniques, data processing, and integration of geophysics, geochemistry, and geochronology have expanded the traditional role of geologic maps. We invite contributions to this poster-only session that feature geologic mapping and derivative products that illustrate the critical role of geologic maps in understanding surficial and tectonomagmatic processes.
