Session Description:
Fifty years of world-wide magnetic exploration has led to major discoveries including marine magnetic anomalies as a tool to date the seafloor and reconstruct plate tectonic history, but also magnetic anomalies at various altitudes, on land and at sea, used to investigate the structure and magnetic properties of geological features at all scales. 

 

This session aims to gather contributions from all fields of magnetic anomaly research, from deep-sea to sea-surface marine magnetics, aeromagnetics, satellite magnetics, as well as related rock magnetism. Detailed studies of plate motions resulting from the analysis of marine magnetic anomalies and other data are especially welcome.
