Interactions between neotectonics and surface processes along active plate boundaries

Session Description:
Understanding the mechanisms driving interactions between neotectonics, surface processes, and their mutual feedbacks, is relevant to the broad scientific community. Such interactions and feedback mechanisms can be interrogated at various spatial and temporal scales. Neotectonic geomorphology have seen revolutions in recent years due to the ability to better quantify uncertainties in Quaternary geochronology, quantification of erosion rates at multiple timescales, and significant advances in measuring deformation from geodesy. This session is aimed at understanding recent advances in novel, multidisciplinary, and innovative studies on Tectonic Geomorphology across a wide spectrum of tectonic settings and plate boundaries in particular. We welcome contributions using state of the art methods such as quantitative and object-based geomorphology, geodesy, thermochronology, and landscape dynamics models to investigate the rates and temporal evolution of landscape, and/or to constrain rates of deformation along active plate boundaries.
