Note: Abstract submissions to Union sessions are by invitation only.

Session ID#: 49725

Session Description:
The Nation’s authoritative assessment of climate impacts, the Fourth National Climate Assessment Volume II: Impacts, Risks, and Adaptation in the United States (NCA4 Vol. II), is scheduled for release in late 2018. Written by over 300 experts, NCA4 Vol. II focuses on the ecological, societal, and economic impacts of climate change for ten regions and seventeen topics across the country, while also providing examples of local actions being taken to reduce the risks associated with climate change. This Union session will highlight key findings of the assessment, which emphasizes regional information and includes a new chapter addressing the U.S. Caribbean. The report incorporates new economic impacts information, characterizes findings in a risk-based framework, and also includes new chapters on air quality, climate effects on U.S. international interests, and complex systems.
