Session Description:
The topic of data policy is often focused on discussions of standards, data management, and data sharing. While those are critical components of any data policy, they are not the only areas of importance. Cultures, economics, technology, finance, education, psychology, and many other domains all affect the development, implementation, and evaluation of data policies in the scientific arena. This session seeks to highlight the many angles from which the subject of data policy can be approached, and to identify potential connections within and beyond the geosciences.
