The Last Glacial Termination in the Middle and High Latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere Posters

Session Description:
The Last Glacial Termination represents one of the largest global climatic changes in the past 800 thousand years. It involved rapid melting of ice masses across the planet, reorganization of the coupled ocean-atmosphere system, sea level rise, increases in atmospheric greenhouse gases, and major changes in biota. The tight coupling between atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, and biosphere in the southern extra-tropics make this area particularly interesting for constraining the mechanisms governing rapid, widespread, large-magnitude climate changes. We invite abstracts from all disciplines, including terrestrial, marine, and modelling studies, that focus on the Last Glacial Termination in the mid- and high latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere. This session will provide a multi-disciplinary environment to discuss timing, structure, and mechanisms of the sequence of events that shaped paleoclimatic changes during this time period.
