Use of Earth Observations in Mitigating Major Environmental Challenges in the Americas Posters

Session Description:
A growing population coupled with increased weather and climate variability are increasing the complexity of resource allocation and other environmental decision-making in the Americas. Major challenges facing the region are particularly acute in the realms of food security and agriculture, water resources management, disaster risk reduction, and rapidly changing land use and ecosystems. This session focuses on basic and applied research, and capacity building efforts in the Americas that incorporate Earth observations to generate tools, products, and services that support environmental decision-making by governmental institutions, non-governmental agencies, and the general public. Submissions are welcome from researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers focused on addressing these societal challenges for the Americas.
