Earth Observations for Food Security and Agriculture: Synthesizing Public and Private Sector Knowledge Posters

Session Description:
Earth observation data, analytics, and modeling from a variety of sources and at a variety of spatial and temporal scales provide critical information and tools to support decisions for the functioning and resilience of food systems. These decisions occur from farm to sub-national, national, regional, and global scales, increasing production with fewer resources, and strengthening food security and resilience while reducing uncertainty and volatility in agricultural markets.

This session is co-organized by members of private (Corteva Agriscience and The Climate Corporation) and public sectors (NASA Harvest and NASA Food Security Office, as well as the international GEOGLAM). To bridge gaps between these sectors, we invite abstracts on recent advances in scientific applications of EO data in agricultural monitoring and decision support, including but not limited to yield modeling/forecasting/estimation, crop monitoring in cloudy regions, big Earth data and cloud-computing, and resource optimization.
