Session Description:
The demand for capabilities to employ geospatial data and scientific information for societal good is growing. As data availability increases, so have the opportunities to apply these data around the globe. This poster session focuses on building the capacity of individuals and institutions to use Earth observations to address environmental challenges, make data-driven decisions and actions, and develop public policy. Contributors will explore methods and protocols for designing, implementing, and measuring impact of capacity building and professional development efforts in water resource management, disaster preparedness and response, land and ecosystem management, and health and air quality management. Various approaches will be highlighted, along with their effectiveness, challenges, and benefits, providing session participants with a broader understanding of the Earth science capacity building community and resources available.
