V31E:
Advances in Metamorphic Processes: Mechanisms, Conditions, Rates, and Drivers Posters
Submit an Abstract to this Session
Session ID#: 52874
Session Description:
Advection and diffusion of thermal energy and mass couple Earth's exterior and deep interior, driving plate tectonics and long term geochemical cycles. Metamorphic rocks provide a context in which to study the dynamics of the coupled Earth system by informing both geodynamic and geochemical models. We welcome contributions that investigate the mechanisms, conditions, rates, and drivers of metamorphism from the subgrain- to orogen-scale. Contributions across metamorphic conditions and tectonic settings are encouraged. In particular, we welcome contributions that examine the complex feedbacks between physical and chemical processes in orogenic systems.
