Session Description:
Over the last decade, Solar Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence (SIF) research has grown dramatically, leading to important advances linking SIF to plant photosynthesis. SIF measurements at a range of scales appear to match closely with ground and model-based estimates of gross primary production (GPP), capturing dynamic responses of vegetation to stress. We have reached a point where an ensemble of existing (GOME-2, GOSAT, OCO-2, TanSat, TROPOMI) and future (OCO-3, GeoCarb) Earth observations provide SIF data products to research and application communities.
We propose a half-day technical workshop fon SIF data products, current research, applications and advantages and limitations of SIF. Our aim is to help the community learn about SIF data, highlight tools and resources, and to provide an opportunity to foster growth in the community.
