Session ID#: 54643

Session Description:
Pressing challenges facing society today cannot be effectively addressed by any country or discipline alone. Science diplomacy builds on the effective ability of science to transcend borders and connect individuals and communities across the world to attain common goals in order to resolve mutual problems. The workshop is aimed at AGU early career scientists, who are interested in exploring careers with facets complementing academic research.

During the workshop, the participants will:

  • Learn about the vital role of science diplomacy in facilitating international relations while simultaneously advancing scientific discovery.
  • Identify opportunities to advance science diplomacy in their respective fields of research.
  • Develop skills to effectively navigate the science-diplomacy nexus.
  • Engage directly with science diplomacy experts from academic and diplomatic fields through roundtable discussions and networking break.
