Environmental Processes Revealed Through Soil and Sediment Magnetism I

Session Description:
Magnetic minerals in soils, dust, and lake and marine sediments record important information about Earth surface processes and past environmental conditions. Our ability to interpret environmental change through magnetic signals continues to improve through better understanding of how magnetic minerals interact with their surroundings in aqueous and surface environments.  We welcome submissions on all aspects of environmental magnetism, including but not limited to the use of magnetic properties to understand paleoclimate, weathering, soil development, diagenesis and alteration, and pollution, among other topics. Interdisciplinary studies that incorporate aspects of geochemistry, biology, microscopy, or new analysis techniques are especially encouraged.
