Atmospheric Trace Species in the Stratosphere: Distribution, Trends, Variability, and Processes Related to Stratospheric Ozone and Climate II

Session Description:
Stratospheric trace species impact climate through chemical, radiative and dynamicaleffects. Determining and attributing variability in stratospheric ozone, water vapor and aerosols are currently active research topics. Uncertainties exist regarding the interplay between changes in stratospheric trace species and climate and the response in a future with increased greenhouse gases and ozone recovery. This session encourages abstracts on the distribution, trends and variability of ozone and related trace species (including aerosols and ODSs) that affect stratospheric ozone as well as their interactions with climate. This includes studies on stratospheric dynamics, transport and mixing, radiation, and chemistry for past, present and future climates. Observational studies using satellite, ground based, and in situ measurements, and modeling studies covering all aspects of stratospheric changes and their impact on climate on all timescales including addressing controls imposed by the Montreal Protocol and its recent Kigali Amendment (controlling HFCs) are welcome.
