Session ID#: 60179
Session Description:
A new ability to study dynamical lunar processes has emerged from data returned by lunar missions, accompanying model analyses, laboratory studies, and analog research. These data provide insight into the fundamental geologic processes that have shaped the Moon and demonstrate that the lunar environment was and remains dynamic. New paradigms are emerging in the areas of ongoing bombardment, regolith processes, volatile transport, volcanism, tectonism, and basin formation. This session will highlight new studies of contemporary and fundamental processes and their roles in the geologic history of our nearest planetary neighbor.
