Session Description:
Scientific infrastructure is evolving to include data, software, persistent identifiers, tools, computational workflows, and services across all stages of the data life cycle in support of the publication and long-term stewardship of research data products and services. Recommended practices build on community initiatives to develop and adopt new standards, tools, workflows and metadata to improve scientific communication and information management for reproducible, trustworthy, transdisciplinary, stakeholder-driven science. Various evaluation methods also have emerged to assess the quality and maturity of resources developed. In addition, persistent identifiers are being developed and adopted to facilitate continuing access to data, researchers, repositories, funders, and institutions. This session includes papers from a variety of stakeholders that report on recommended practices, current assessment efforts, and the use of persistent identifiers to improve the publication, stewardship, and impact of research data, tools, software, workflows, services, and repositories.
