Extreme Wildfires in 2018 II Posters

Session Description:
Wildfires worldwide have reached historic proportions. In 2018, California has suffered more than 5,500 fires scorching over one million acres. The Mendocino Complex Fire has burned in excess of 389,000 acres, the largest complex fire in the history of California. The 2018 wildfire season involves numerous extreme fires on multiple continents, including north of the Arctic Circle.  These fires cause loss of lives, millions of dollars in property destructions, and severe threat to human health.  They also require enormous resources to fight and control.  It is timely to examine the 2018 fire season in earnest. This late breaking session invites contributions (oral and poster) that address the drivers, observations, impacts and recovery processes of the 2018 wildfires. The session will include a Panel Discussion on the “Climate Change and Wild Forest Fires: Is there any way to minimize Forest Fires?”
