Integrated Approach for Earth, Ocean, Atmosphere, and Ionosphere Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Hazards

Session Description:
This session will focus on interactions between the Earth’s land, ocean, biosphere, cryosphere and atmosphere (troposphere and ionosphere), and various natural hazards (earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, landslides, floods, forest fires, dust storms, lightning, erosion, subsidence, hurricanes, tornadoes and coastal erosion). Ground and space-based observations are being used to monitor meteorological parameters, neutral atmospheric pressure and density, airglow emission, and total electron content. Petabytes of global data at high spatial and temporal resolutions are collected every day on surface and at different vertical levels. Contributions addressing the synergistic use of data from different platforms, covering land, ocean, atmosphere and space to monitor, detection and early warning of natural hazard using innovative real-time techniques, data fusion, and model studies are welcome.
