Late Breaking contributions for the Global 2018 Hurricane, Typhoon, and Cyclone Season II Poster

Session Description:
To date, 2018 has seen a series of record-breaking extreme weather events from Hurricanes Florence, Michael and Rosa in the US and Lane, Olivia and Walaka in Hawaii; Typhoons Jebi, Mangkut and Trami in the northwest Pacific, whilst Cyclone Liua in the southwest Pacific is the first September cyclone in 60 years.

This session, organized as multiple sessions, seeks a wide breadth of contributions focusing on the 2018 storm season. Papers can include results from numerical modeling , high-resolution remote sensing, crowd-sourced data and social media in disaster response, policy implications, flooding and infrastructure damage, impacts on the environment and human health, changing coastal landscapes, anomalous oceanographic, atmospheric, and climatic factors contributing to the phenomena, data access and assimilation; and HPC and cloud computing for real-time analysis.
