Innovative Isotope Methods for Characterizing Metal Budgets in the Present and Past Terrestrial and Aquatic Environments Posters

Session Description:
Recent analytical developments of isotope systematics, with a special emphasis on metals and metalloids, have experienced an unprecedented increase over the past few years. The aim of this session is to explore methods, tracers and research applications using innovative isotope systematics that in fine will provide for metals and metalloids i) stronger constraints on their origins, ii) a better characterization of the processes controlling their budgets and iii) historical records of variations of their cycles in the Environment (soil, sediment, water, air), at local and global scales.
This session will also focus on the implementation of multi-isotope approaches coupling traditional isotope systematics with new ones to determine the sources, dynamics and behavior of metals in the environment. Contributions concerning methodological and technical advances in this field are also welcome.
Studies using stable isotopes of toxic heavy metals such as Hg, Cr, Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni and Cd are particularly encouraged.
