Innovative Methods to Study Greenhouse Gas Exchange in Wetland Ecosystems II Posters

Session Description:
Wetlands are vital ecosystems that play an important role in global climate, acting as a net sink and a net source of greenhouse gases (GHGs).  Thus, it is essential to quantify the magnitude of the net uptake/release of CO2 and emissions of CH4 and N2O from wetlands and identify physical, chemical and biological factors controlling these fluxes.  However, the main challenge is the detection of small changes in GHG exchange in relation to different environmental and management factors, often requiring the use of measurement techniques from a range of disciplines applied at various scales. We invite researchers using innovative methods to characterize spatial-temporal variability of GHG exchange in wetlands. Of interest are field and laboratory methods, data-model integration, and theoretical and numerical modeling that explore and advance the capabilities to understand and predict spatial-temporal variability in wetland GHG exchange. Studies that integrate multiple methods are particularly encouraged.
