Meteorite Impact Structure and Related Economic Mineral Deposits

Session Description:
Meteorite impact has played an important role in the evolution of the earth from the Archean to the present time. World-class economic mineral deposits including some oil and gas occurrences have been identify around the world and related to major impact. The session will bring an up to date review of the existing knowledge about ore generating processes related to impact, describing the mineralization environments and styles of emplacement from terrestrial impact structures.
Recent studies on pre, syn or post impact deposits, hosted epigenetic hydrocarbon deposits are welcome including oil and gas shales.
We also welcome contributions relating to any aspect of impact record, exploration, exploitation strategy , including some of the gold, uranium deposits, impact diamonds, recent studies on reconstruction of the structural or tectonic setting , geophysics , volcanic or sedimentary environment, geochemistry, petrology, physical properties, laboratory-based studies and numerical modeling of terrestrial craters.
