Metal Isotopes in Ancient Marine Sediments: Windows Into the Paleoenvironment or Proxies for Diagenetic Alteration? Posters

Session Description:
Metal isotope systems (Ca, Fe, Mg, Sr, Li, Cr, U, etc.) are being intensely applied to the study of past environments.  Although these systems hold great promise to unravel the mysteries of Earth history, many significant questions remain as to their ability to preserve primary environmental information and their susceptibility to post-depositional diagenetic alteration.  In this session we seek submissions reporting on the application of these proxies to ancient sedimentary systems and to the evaluation of these isotopic systems in settings where the role of diagenesis can be evaluated.  We encourage submissions that present new isotopic data sets or evaluate existing data sets with numerical models.
