Abstract:
This presentation discuses about Developing and improving Sustainable Ocean Governance Through Interdisciplinary Research Linkages And Interactions Between Ocean and Human Systems. Improved governance is essential to achieve the communication and understanding between the marine scientist and society segments for adoptions and mitigation of global change on ocean sustainability. This presentation signifies that social and human issues are linked together in marine systems through information and communication science .Policy makers, scientists and researcher are contributing to the knowledge and information on Ocean governance for the betterment of societies. This presentation shows that the development of new interdisciplinary research approaches and linkages across marine systems and strengthen the society- scientist- policy interface and dialogue to provide more holistic approach for ocean Governance. The presentation also bridges the knowledge gaps between the society and research as well as scientist and society for achieving the Ocean Governance for sustainability through information and communication science. This presentation also suggest on how information and communication science and technologies are linked with ocean and human dimensions through earth system modelling for marine sustainability.
