RBR2020 Cohort Mentor Panel - SciComm & Group Mentoring

Session Description:
A focus of the RBR2020 Cohort is to mentor early-career researchers on science communication and how to develop and nurture a successful research group.  This session will convene members of the cohort to interact with a panel of exceptional leaders to share their lessons and experiences on science communication and team management.  The panelists have kindly agreed to open the session up to all scientists to participate in the conversation.

Some of the topics that will be covered:

  • Developing communications plan
  • Pitching new research ideas to funding agencies
  • Communicating results and value with media
  • Developing own brand
  • How to recruit and select grad students
  • How to mentor students and technical staff

No registration is necessary. Food will be available to the first 20 participants.
