Abstract:
Equatorial magnetosonic waves are commonly observed within the terrestrial magnetosphere, both inside and outside the plasmapause boundary. Using 12 years worth of data collected by the Cluster STAFF search coil magnetometer instruments, this paper presents the results of a statistical investigation into the form, location, and occurrence of these discrete emissions.
