Abstract:
New results of a transatlantic monitoring experiment are presented. In the experiment we study the potential marine environmental effects of Saharan-dust deposition, focussing on the physical, chemical, and mineralogical properties of Saharan dust collected along a transatlantic transect at 12degN. The material is collected both at the ocean surface with floating dust collectors as well as while settling through the water column.
