Abstract:
Webification Science (w10n-sci) is powerful enabling technology that
simplifies the access and manipulation of both local and remote data.
It has been successfully applied to various scientific disciplines as well as
space mission operations. As an easy-to-use data virtualization mechanism,
w10n-sci posses unique and useful capabilities, essential
to any scientific research/investigation that relies heavily on intensive
use of immense and distributed data in diverse formats. Open source
w10n-sci implementations are being deployed at NASA DAACs.
In this talk, we will provide an overview of w10n-sci and demonstrate
how it can help to bring climate model output and remote sensing data together
in a rapid, effective and collaborative fashion. Time permits,
novel and intuitive web applications will be used to illustrate
how model results can be quickly viewed and examined along with
observations.
