Abstract:
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) is a Data management program at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) for collecting, curating and distributing field data generated by NSF PLR Antarctic Glaciology research program. Data management at AGDC assumes a comprehensive approach to curation that starts with guiding Principal Investigators through the data submission process and carries forward to user-centered development of tools to access the data. AGDC follows the recommended standards for science data with an eye towards creating long-term data records that will be usable into the future and interoperable with other data records and technologies.
