The scientific potential of increased access to the Deep Space Network

Abstract:

Steven J. Ostro devoted most of his career to asteroid radar astronomy
and encouraged young scientists at a variety of institutions to
observe with the Goldstone Solar System Radar. I will review this
impressive legacy with results from observations of asteroids,
terrestrial planets, and Galilean satellites. Ostro's vision provides
a glimpse of the potential of making the DSN accessible to a broader
community.
