Abstract:
Not all ecosystems are rain-fed at all times. This talk explores some emerging patterns in groundwater-ecosystem links at regional, continental and global scales, through observation synthesis, conceptual models, and where needed, numerical models. It highlights the need for (1) large-scale and community-level data integration and (2) a more process-based representation of groundwater in global climate and earth system models.
