Abstract:
There have been numerous recent attempts at estimating the exchange of greenhouse gasses between the atmosphere and inland waters at the global to regional scale. These estimates are bolstered by new methodologies and approaches for measuring the concentration of gasses, the surface area of inland waters and the gas transfer velocity. There is still, however, a large uncertainty with these fluxes. This talk will discuss global inland water greenhouse gas fluxes and discuss some of the major remaining uncertainties.
