Displacement Data Assimilation

We use physically-consistent maps to assimilate data and evolutionary models represented by systems of stochastic differential equations associated with fluid flows. The outcome is an estimate that is capable of capturing features while at the same time preserving the kinematics of the fluid flow. We describe the method and some recent results.
