P13E:
Scientific Investigations and Synergies in the Exploration of Europa II

Session ID#: 10392

Session Description:
Jupiter’s moon Europa may harbor habitable environments, and NASA has announced its intent to begin a spacecraft mission to explore this intriguing world.  This session solicits presentations on high-priority science investigations for Europa that can be addressed through a multiple-flyby mission.  Submissions should summarize new results, the state of knowledge, and specific investigations pertinent to the science of Europa’s ice shell and ocean, composition, geology, and/or exosphere (including potential plumes). This session also solicits presentations on results and investigations for the reconnaissance of Europa’s surface, which could aid a potential future landed mission. Contributors are encouraged to consider how multiple investigative techniques can work synergistically to address high-priority scientific questions about Europa’s habitability and surface reconnaissance.
