The Impacts of Energy Production and Use on Air Quality and Climate I Posters

Session Description:
Energy production and use emits gas- and aerosol-phase species to the atmosphere, including ozone and aerosol precursors, air toxics, greenhouse gases, organic, inorganic aerosol, and black carbon. Energy production has undergone substantial changes over the past several years: most significantly the boom in oil and natural gas production, but also increases in biofuel production from corn and other feedstocks. This dynamic energy production and usage landscape results in changing emissions, and emerging research exemplifies these linkages to the future air quality and climate.

    We solicit abstracts on energy-related emissions over a wide range of topics: transportation fuel choices; emissions from oil and natural gas operations (e.g. SONGNEX 2015 and TOPDOWN measurement campaigns); biofuel production and processing; and power generation; as well as the subsequent chemical/physical dynamics of these primary emissions in the atmosphere and their impacts on climate change. Field measurements, laboratory studies, or atmospheric modeling results are all encouraged.
