A51I:
Marine Boundary Layer Clouds and Aerosols: Observations and Process Modeling I Posters
Session ID#: 8837
Session Description:
Marine boundary layer clouds, their feedbacks on climate change, and their interaction with aerosols are key contemporary climate modeling challenges. This session solicits analyses of new field and satellite observations and high-resolution process modeling which are central to addressing these challenges, including campaigns such as MAGIC, CSET and ENA and encompassing both low-latitude and extratropical environments. Solicited topics include marine boundary layer cloud characteristics (vertical and horizontal distribution, phase, precipitation, particle size, radiative interaction), their interaction with turbulence, aerosols, air-sea fluxes, and their sensitivity to the large-scale environment.
