C21B:
Modeling of the Cryosphere: Glaciers and Ice Sheets I Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.
You can still search the program to see your colleagues abstract submissions as well as the sessions submitted for the 2016 Fall Meeting. The final program will be released in early October.

Session ID#: 12696

Session Description:
This session focuses on process-based modeling of glaciers and ice sheets that improves our understanding of ice dynamics or enhances the
capabilities of current models. We invite contributions from a broad range of theoretical, numerical, or experimental studies that explore new or improved representations of physical processes relevant to ice flow. The range of topics that is encouraged includes, but is not limited to: basal processes (such as glacial hydrology, erosion, surging, the onset of ice streams), mechanical and thermodynamic processes (constitutive relationships, material behavior, ice fracturing), and ice-ocean interactions (for example calving, grounding line dynamics).
Primary Convener:  Stephen F Price, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Fluid Dynamics and Solid Mechanics, Los Alamos, United States
Conveners:  Sophie Nowicki, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, United States, Christian Schoof, University of British Columbia, Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, Vancouver, BC, Canada and Ian Hewitt, University of Oxford, Mathematical Institute, Oxford, United Kingdom
