Renewable Energy: Wind

Session Description:
Earth Sciences plays a large and increasing role in identifying locations for harnessing wind energy; examining potential impacts and forecasting renewable energy for dissemination in electrical grids. This session welcomes all Earth Sciences research on wind energy including: wake effects, habitat impacts, climatological studies, boundary layer modeling, wind measurements particularly from new studies, forecasting, and integration of wind into energy grids. Early career scientists, individuals from under-represented groups, international colleagues, and those involved in cross-disciplinary research are particularly encouraged to both submit and attend. This session is being coordinated with the other proposed sessions on Renewable Energy, including those on Marine Renewable Energy, Integration-Open Topics and Solar Energy.
