Runoff Change and Adaptive Management in the River Source Region III Posters

Session Description:
Streamflow has been significantly changed by climate change and human activities. Tibet Plateau is the source region of major rivers in China, South and Southeast Asia, where the understanding and prediction of hydrologic, biogeochemistry processes, and water resources utilization remains grand challenges in science. To address these challenges, the National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC) launched the Major Research Plan with RMB 200 million for 2016-2023. This Plan focuses on three scientific questions: Prediction of runoff change under climate change; Prediction of river biogenic substances processes; Adaptive management of water resources under changing conditions. In this session, we encourage innovative studies and solicit contributions focusing on the following specific subjects:

i) Physically based hydrologic model for alpine areas;

ii) Tracer based water source apportionment method for large watersheds;

iii) Biogenic substances migration and transformation, and accumulative effects in cascade reservoirs;

iv) Interaction and feedback in the integrated climate-hydrology-ecology-economy-society system.
