Session Description:
Oceanic-climatic interactions in the subtropical and tropical Atlantic Ocean have significant impacts on the people that live in the surrounding regions. Understanding the climate dynamics for recent to glacial-interglacial time intervals is vital for which paleoclimate reconstructions can provide key information. Mollusks, otoliths, corals, coralline algae and other organisms addresses the need for seasonally resolved data from a range of geographic locations, allowing for a detailed understanding of our changing climate and how that change manifests locally and regionally. This session highlights the most recent advances in paleoclimate methods and their applications in multiple disciplines including archaeology, climate science, environmental conservation, paleobiology, and fisheries ecology and management in order to facilitate conversation between disciplines and with the broader climate and environmental scientific communities.
